Hey I'm trying to download the NEST app on my phone and hook up my thermostat Gen 3 to it.
I attempted to reset everything by holding down the thermostat for 10 seconds as suggested on the goof restart page however nothing resets. As I attempt to use the Entry code under the QR code on the inside of the cover of the thermostat it will not connect to my phone. It says it's already connected to another account. How do I fix this ?

You have not reset your thermostat just restarted the thermostat.
Reset by going to Settings - Reset - Reset All settings
That will erase everything back to factory, and let you start with your details, and erase the previous owner.

If the Nest app says the thermostat is linked to another account, then I am sure you might need to remove it from the old account first. If you do not have access to that account, try doing a factory reset instead of just restarting. You can find this in the thermostat settings under ‘Reset’ > ‘Factory Reset.’ Then, try setting it up again in the app.
