I really don't want to deal with all these fancy "learning" control options with eco-thisandthat, away, home, etc modes... I. Just. Want. a. Manual. Thermostat. You know, that I turn up when I get up in the morning and turn down at night, whenever that may be. And it stays down when I'm gone on vacation or work. And I can check it whenever remotely because it is connected and controllable by me via the Google Home App.
How do I get that to happen? There's all these instructions for all the fancy options, and then I see a lot of blog help requests with how the program turns on at random times, or just blasts on continuously, etc. I really don't need to deal with all that. How do you turn all that off?!?

Hello DaveIsConfused,
I completely understand your preference for a straightforward and manual thermostat control without the fuss of various modes and learning features. Fortunately, achieving a simplified setup is possible, and you can still have remote control via the Google Home App. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Disable any learning or smart features that you don't want to use. This might involve turning off Eco Mode, learning algorithms, or any other advanced functions. The specific steps will depend on the thermostat model. Clear all schedules via the Nest app or the Google Home app.
Check the Routines for any thermostat actions available and remove them.
Let us know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
