I have an email address and login for nest which is different to my google account. Can anyone help? I have tried to change my nest account login over to my google email but get the same error. If, as your post indicates, you have a Nest Learning Thermostat, you do NOT install it or "link it" in the Google Home app using the "Works with Google" option; that option is ONLY for non-Google Nest devices that can WORK with Google Nest. Rather, you install your thermostat in the Google Nest app.
If you have migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676), then you log into the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option.
Once you install your thermostat in the Google Nest app, it should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app, provided you are logging into the Google Nest app and the Google Home app using same Google Nest "home/structure" and using the same Google Account. IF it does NOT appear, some customers have reported this workaround to get it to appear:
1) Create a new, temporary Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Nest app.
2) In the Google Home app, delete that new, empty Google Nest "home/structure".
This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync, and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.

Hi, I have followed your instructions and under the home structure I have both a kitchen and water option for both the heating and hot water. In google home only the kitchen heating is showing. The water option is missing. I have tried setting up a temp home and deleting it but it has not appeared. Can you help please?

We don't have a Nest thermostat, so I only know what I shared above.
I don't know whether the Nest Learning Thermostat appears differently in the Google Nest app versus the Google Home app. It's too bad Google Nest is stuck between 2 apps.
