Can't offer a solution as this has happened to me this week as well. I've tried several emails/reset instructions, but nothing is coming through. Tried to use the online chat function, but it's currently not available. Interested to see if anyone has any advice to help!

I learned it’s because gen 1 and 2 no longer have access to the app. Google made them dumb by sunsetting their “support” last month. You should have an email with a discount code if you want to replace it.

Hello @Npratt30,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you are experiencing a critical issue where you cannot log in to your Nest account and you are not receiving a password reset email. The fact that you were never able to migrate your account suggests that your account should still be managed via the original Nest sign-in path.

To help me diagnose why you are not receiving the password reset email, please provide the following details:

  • Email Address Check:
    • Are you certain you are using the exact email address that was originally registered with your Nest account? Even a small typo will prevent the email from being sent.
  • Spam and Junk Folders:
    • Have you thoroughly checked your Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders? Automated password reset emails frequently end up in these locations.

If you are certain of the email address and have checked all folders, the next step is often a browser-based approach, as the app or a specific email client may be causing the block.

Use the Web Browser for Password Reset

Please use a computer or phone web browser to request the password reset directly from the Nest website:

  • Go to the official Nest login page: home.nest.com
  • Click Sign In and then select I forgot my password.
  • Enter your exact Nest account email address and submit the request.
  • Immediately check all folders (Inbox, Spam, Junk) of that email account.

If the email still does not arrive after performing this web-based request, we will need to confirm the email provider is not blocking the sender.

Please try Step 1 and let me know if the email arrives. Also, please confirm if you have checked your spam/junk folders.

Regards,

Kevin
