I cant access my nest account or google home; cant reset password on app or laptop

I installed a nest therm.  several years ago (after 2019) and have both the google home app and the nest app but cant recall which one I have used.  

I have the email I used but can't log in on either app.    Can't reset the password on either app.  

I need access!   HELP

I understand how confusing it can be if you're unable to access any of your accounts, but don't worry, let's see what can be done about it.

Since you've mentioned using the Google Home app alongside the Nest app and your thermostat showed up in both, you're most likely using a Gmail account. If you're trying to sign in to Nest, ensure you're clicking on the option that says "Login with Google."

If you've either migrated or registered your account under a Gmail address, you should not try to recover your account via the Nest app. Instead, try to recover your account via Google.
