I have a US Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) but need a heat link to work in the UK

I brought over my Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) from the US to my home in the UK but I'm unable to set it up without a heat link which I believe is common in the nest products sold in the UK. Is it possible to receive or purchase a heat link so my Nest system will work in my home in the UK?

@wchsinvite

The new Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen can not be used in the UK/Europe. You have to use the UK/European version of the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen or the Nest Thermostat E.

Only the UK/European versions are compatible.

Ah, I didn't realize that. Thank you. But is it possible to make the 4th gen version work if I somehow bought and added a heat link? Or is that not possible? Is the 4th gen useless in the UK? Thanks again for your help.

Hi wchsinvite,

Thank you for your reply and to Patrick_Caezza for his assistance.

Unfortunately, the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Generation is not compatible with European systems due to differences in setup. European Nest thermostats use a Heatlink for wireless communication with your boiler. The 4th Generation, however, directly connects to your system via the baseplate, which is incompatible with UK systems. Additionally, there are voltage differences between UK and US systems, and the 4th Generation is unable to control hot water, an important feature in European Nest thermostats.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Angel.
