I have two systems in one house. Can I combine two rings in the app?

I have two separate systems running different parts of my house. I had the nest installed on one of them with a remote temperature sensor.

I need another master thermostat to operate the other system and maybe add a remote sensor to that side too.

Is there a way to view and control each one in my app or do I treat them like two different houses?

My air-conditioning people switched all my thermostats and remote sensors to ecobee. That system works fine. They said ring wasn't very friendly to multiple systems and zones. I no longer need this information.

Hi @Kimovirg - You can control both Nest thermostats separately but under the same house/account. This article can help explain further.

I did see that before, but the actual steps to make it happen aren't explained in detail and on the community board, several people could not get it to recognize the other unit and many found they had to install, uninstall the app, then reinstall and add the second thermostat and then be able to add the first. It seem there were many responses that made it clear it was a mixed up install and even with direct help, they spent hours.

In my case the air-conditioning people pointed out the Google nest app has issues with adding zones and working with the equipment. They are going to change my things out to ecobee, which should do what I want.

Hi folks,

Chiming in to see how I could help.

@MrVacca, thanks for the assistance.

@Kimovirg, I'm sorry to hear about the issues that you're having when pairing your Nest devices, I'm sure it's confusing with the different home structures. You can definitely add multiple Nest thermostats and Temperature sensors under one home structure, even if they're both connected to different HVAC systems, as long as they're at the same address.

Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Thanks,

Mark
