If I set a temp schedule, how long does it stay at that temp?

My thermostat is normally set at 68 degrees. If I set a scheduled temp change for sleeping at 10pm for 65 degrees, how long will it stay at 65? 30 minutes? an hour? I've noticed the one other time I tested out scheduled temp changes that it didn't last long. If I set the temp change for 10pm to 65, and set another for 6am to go back up to 68, will it stay 65 the whole time between scheduled temps? Or will it go down to 65 from 10pm to 11pm and then go back up to 68 because thats what its usual set temp is? I'm trying to figure out how the scheduling works so I can set certain temps for sleeping and when I'm gone during the day.

Hello LHenkins4,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

It depends on the specific model and features of your thermostat, but generally, when you set a scheduled temperature change, the thermostat should maintain the adjusted temperature until the next scheduled change or until you manually adjust it.

If you set the temperature to 65 degrees at 10 p.m. and another change to 68 degrees at 6 a.m., the thermostat should keep the temperature at 65 degrees from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., as per your schedule. It shouldn't revert to the usual set temperature of 68 degrees unless there's a specific override or a different setting causing it to do so.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Mark
