Inaccurate Reading?

We are out of town and have our Nest thermostat set at 68 but the Nest says “heating” and the actual house reading continues to say 60-61 degrees.  We had a neighbor go over and they state it does not feel like it is 60 degrees in the house. Could this be a faulty wire issue ?  Can anyone speak to this ?  It will just continue to run if the house is showing a much lower temp-

thank you in advance.

issue with the thermostat rest it. This happened to me many times. Big POS.

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay.

A few questions:

What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
When was the thermostat installed?
Where did you install your thermostat? (in a room and on a wall or stand)
Do you have other active Nest thermostats? If yes: Do they show the same issue?
When did the issue start?
How big is the difference between the readout of the Nest thermostat and your thermometer or other thermostats?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If yes: Would you mind listing them?

Give these steps a try:

Go to Settings > Technical Info > Network.
Check for the Signal strength value.
Restart the thermostat
Turn on Sunblock
Check if the thermostat is near a heat source

Keep us posted.
