Installing nest thermostat

Nwm

We removed the old Honeywell thermostat and wired up the nest.  In the Google home app, my phone is not connecting via Bluetooth to the nest – – it doesn’t show up on the list of devices. We checked the batteries and checked all the wire connections to be sure they were secure. Where do we go next with the nest?  BTW, these were offered at a real discount price via Duke energy. Probably first generation?  We bought two of them, but are not getting very far 😞
      Thanks for any help

You won't see the Nest thermostat show up as connected to Bluetooth. Bluetooth is used to create an "ad hock" network between Nest devices.
