Internal Temp Reading 100 Degrees

MichaelChavalas

Hey friends,

My nest is reading 100 degrees for the internal temperature, but it’s closer to 60 degrees inside.

I’ve had my nest thermostat for 3 years without any other issues.

We just installed a brand new AC unit and it’s been working fine without any problems.

I’ve reset the nest several times without any help.

 Any ideas?

Hi MichaelChavalas,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is reading the incorrect room temperature. Let me take a look at this for you. A few questions:

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. Where did you install your thermostat? In a room and on a wall or stand?
  4. Do you have other active Nest Thermostats? If yes, do they show the same issue?
  5. When did the issue start?
  6. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If yes, would you mind listing them?

If you have a room thermometer, take a photo of the thermometer next to the Nest Thermostat. Both the thermometer and thermostat screens should be visible in the photo and show the difference in each other’s readouts. Also, if you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E, gather its signal strength value under Settings > Technical Info > Network > Signal strength value.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
