Is it possible to disable manual button on heatlink ?

Hi all

I recently (after having one dead heatlink and one dead NestE) got it all up and running.

One of the mian reasons for installing the NestE was to stop a family member with learning difficulties having the hesting running all day.

However, the person in question has now worked out that they can press the heatlink button twice and the heating will come on.

It seems to run on forever with no heat upper limit.

All a bit of a waste of money unless I can get this reaolved.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Hello there, @envance

Thanks for posting. I am sorry to hear that you're facing issues with your thermostat. What I understand from your post is that the Manual Mode is turned on. By pressing the button twice you turn this feature on and indeed you'll have hot water and heating all the time. If you want to know more about this please click here and check the first part of the article. To turn off the Manual Mode, all you need to do is to click once again on the button and check if the three lights disappeared.

Let me know if this helps.

Many thanks, Oana.

Thank you, so this is my exact problem.

The person in question is going to boiler and turning the heating on manually and when I come home the house is massively overheated. Is there anyway to turn off the manual over-ride, the WHOLE POINT of me putting Nest in was to stop this exact thing happening.

Thanks again

I understand. This feature can't be deactivated since it's used for testing your system or when it comes to emergencies.
