We have a heat pump that's currently wired as: white-W2, orange-O/B, black-C, red-R, green-G, and yellow-Y. Will this work with a Nest thermostat? When we connected and turned it on all we get is heat no A/C. We have tried the orange and the white wires in the W and O/B positions and only get heat.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Spmarg,
Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.
Please send us a photo of your old thermostat's wiring configuration and a photo of how you connected the thermostat wires to the Nest Thermostat base. It will help us identify the cause of the situation and move forward.
Best,
Zoe

here are pictures of original and Nest wiring and product box. I see where you are supposed to choose either O orB, but I don't find that option in Nest.
but I don't see that option on the Nest

Hello Spmarg,
Thanks for getting back to us. I checked your thermostat wires and how you connected them to the Nest Thermostat, and I found that the Nest Thermostat you have is the Nest Thermostat 2020, which is not compatible with your thermostat wires but is compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation. Therefore, you should be wired your thermostat wires to the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation base as follows:
Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation.
Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe

No, I do not need anymore help. I will return the Google Nest as it is not compatible with my heat pump system.
