My apologies for the delayed response, and welcome to the community! I totally can understand the confusion behind wiring setups. Let's see how yours will work out.

It looks like your wiring system is compatible as it looks like a conventional setup: you have a secondary heat wire (W2), a fan (G), primary heat wire (W), a common wire (B), cooling (Y), and heating/cooling wire (R). As the Nest Thermostat does rely on additional charging power through your HVAC system, it's important to know that it's provided through the blue B wire if you're setting it up (also called a C-wire). (Here's more info on identifying wires.)

However, since we can't be exactly sure about the particulars of any given HVAC system, we always recommend contacting a pro to to advise or help install if you have any issues with setup.

The Nest app can provide a wiring diagram as well to make setup easy. I hope these resources help! Please let us know if you have any other questions for us. 🙂

Hey Bioni1978,

Thanks for reaching out.

Quick question — what system do you have? Also, could you provide a clear photo of your current thermostat wires showing the labels of the terminals? Alternatively, you can also check your system’s compatibility before purchasing a Nest thermostat with our online Compatibility Checker. Take a look at this link for more information: https://bit.ly/3qZ6OQ1
