Is the AC running simultaneously when the fan setting is on (in cool mode) with the Nest?

The house doesn’t seem to cool down as fast with the fan running in cool mode with the Nest thermostat. Is the AC actually off when the fan setting is on in cool mode? I am wondering if the humidity isn’t reduced as much in fan mode as well, vs when it is off and just AC is on in cool mode.

Hey Lisa,
 
I would be glad to help you out, and answer this for you. Depending on your system, you can run your fan independently of heating and cooling. This means you do not need to have the cool mode on. You can read more about fan control here. Please let me know if that helps.
