Is there any sort of plan to upgrade the thermostat software so these temp senders are useful?

What is the current state of nest and its remote temp senders? Have they implemented real scheduling and actual zone control, average temp balance ect? Seems competitors are offering better products. Almost got the temp senders but if they don't work for what I need im not buying them and will replace the nests.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community! Unfortunately, scheduling, zone control, and average temp balance are not features of the Nest Temperature Sensors. What they do is let your Nest thermostat know the temperature in other rooms, such as the living room or your bedroom, to help keep you more comfortable there. You can even schedule when your temperature sensors are active, so your thermostat will know when to focus on keeping a specific room comfortable. For instance, you can schedule a sensor in your bedroom to be active at night so it’s the temperature you like for sleeping. Here is more info on the sensors for your reference.

We welcome your feedback and can send it over to our developers for the time being. We hope Nest works in your home, whether now or in the future.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help!

I have a whole house fan and would like know just the temps in attic (could get above 90s), 2nd floor master bedroom and basement bedroom.
I don’t want to set any of them to be thermostats. Just temps so I know what each area is, in the Nest app.
