Is this configuration considered dual fuel? And is it compatible with Nest?

Anonymous
Not applicable

We have a nest learning thermostat that we’d like to install in our new rental house that we just moved into. In the setup, it mentions a dual fuel system usually has a heat pump in conjunction with a furnace that is usually either gas or oil. Our house does have a heat pump and if I remember correctly it also has an electric furnace in the attic (not gas). Is this considered dual fuel? Do I need to have a technician install our nest for this type of setup?

wires:

W2 - white

O/B - blue

R - red

G - green

C - brown

Y - yellow

Thanks!

Hey aglbuckley,

Thanks for posting and including a photo of your wiring\.

It seems that your system is compatible with our Nest Thermostats. Please contact a pro installer to discuss your options and proper setup if you're unsure how to proceed with this. It is also to make sure that you safely set up your device.

Best,
Mel
