Just installed nest thermostat and says delay

I just installed a nest thermostat with a C Wire, I am getting a delayed message that stays on for awhile when on cooling and instead of cooling it is actually heating. All the wires are set up correctly as well.

Sounds like a a reversing valve issue in most cases you want to energize the o terminal in cooling, this is done in the program. Check and see if this is the case if it’s not you get exactly what you said, it should be a easy fix
