In current times 💸💷 and circumstances I just want to set my thermostat to come on when I want and not to constantly override itself and come on at random times. I’ve created a schedule but to no avail it’s constantly comes on when it fancies it!! 😩so how do I sort this!!

Hello San1.

I'm sorry if you have to go through this. We'd like you to have a better experience.

If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, try disabling the auto-learning schedule that overrides your created scheduled temperatures. Here's your guide.

Let me know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

the issue still persists.
so the auto learning schedule is off but the heating still comes on even though it’s got a schedule times to come on. I’m having to manually switch on the heat button from the app and then switching it on. If I leave the heat on the heating kicks in when it’s not needed.
in an ideal world I just want to schedule certain hours of the day when the heating comes on.

kind regards

san

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear the issue is still persisting. Let's give these steps another whirl:

On your Nest thermostat settings:

  1. Disable Home/Away Assist.
  2. Turn off both "Heat to" and "Cool to" on Eco temperature.
  3. Restart your thermostat.

On the Nest App:

  1. Check the Scheduled Temperatures.
    1. Modify, change or remove if needed.

Let us know if it works.

Regards,

Mark

Hello Ebedia,

Thanks I’ll give it a go. So I’ve scrapped the old schedule and restarted the thermostat just to clear any anomalies and then set a new schedule. 🤞🏼it works. Keep you posted!

kind regards

😩

  1. so after you instructions Ebedia everything was going okay. Then last Wednesday British Gas came out for a boiler check he looked at the thermostat and made some changes. And it’s gone kaput again 😩 not working with the schedule times at all. So if I do a full reset on the thermostat would it take out the Wi-Fi password etc? And then start from scratch?

    kind regards

Hi folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the assistance, @EmersonB.

@San1, I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists again after the recent changes to your system. I'd suggest clearing only the schedules on your thermostat under the reset option, so it won't go back to its default settings.

If there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

honestly I’m at my wits end!! 😩

I even did a full reset to factory settings hoping that starting from scratch should help. Then I redid the steps that you sent way back. At the time of the factory reset I had scraped any schedule that I had on the app too. Then I set up a new schedule. But still no luck on trying to have the heating come on when I’ve set a new schedule.
HELP!!

kind regards

Hi San1,

Thanks for getting back to us, and I appreciate the steps you have taken.

Make sure to disable the features that cause your scheduled temperatures to not be followed. Also, are you enrolled on a Rush Hour Program? If you’ve signed up for our Rush Hour Rewards program, your thermostat automatically adjusts your heating or cooling schedule and temperatures during an energy Rush Hour.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

No, still no joy. I think you may need take it from the top, meaning maybe list for me what the thermostat should read and what the app should read in order to make the thermostat work to the setting I’m wanting. Or if there is a video or a specialist near me that could have a look at it.

Hi Mark,

sorry for the late reply I’ve been away for a few days.

okay I found number 1 and 3 with your instructions and managed to set them. I couldn’t find any wording that said “heat to cool to” in the eco setting.

…so I went ahead and did steps 1 and 3 then went onto nest app and checked the scheduled temperatures.  The heating never came on a 6:00 pm so I had to turn it on manually then it turned it’s self off around 9:30 then it’s just turned it’s self back on 11:45 pm. My scheduled times are per screenshot so it should have come on at before 6 in the morning 😩
