I messaged about this years ago and nothing has ever been done. It seems to be pretty simple programing but for some reason, Google decides to not correct even though there are tons of comments in here about lack of scheduling functionality. I have a lot of money invested now in a Nest system so can't switch cheaply or I would.
I have Nest sensors that the user has to have more control over. Right now we are only given 4 time periods. Every person is different. Weekday schedules are different than weekend schedules. We need to be able to set by time or at minimum hours for when each sensor will be used, as well as the day.
For example, upstairs I have 2 sensors and the main thermostat. One sensor is in the nursery and one is in my wife's office. During the week, I need day times using the office sensor and the nursery's at night. During the weekends though, my wife isn't working in the office. I would prefer it to revert to the main area thermostat during the morning, the nursery for the baby's nap in the afternoon (since she is home from daycare) and stay on the nursery thermostat at night. You can't do this currently.
I have 4 time periods and basically one schedule rather than being able to switch by days of the week. Please listen to your users and add some basic functionality that is currently missing. Let me choose specific times or at minimum hours, as well as the days of the week.

Hi trletts,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that having an option to create a custom schedule for your thermostat sensors would be easier. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing with us their thoughts. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.
Thanks,
Edward

Hi Edward,
A lot of people have been asking for this for a long time. I have five sensors. I have a lot of money invested. I cannot believe this functionality has not been added yet. I assumed it would be by now, simply because it seems so obvious and is something that literally every other programmable thermostat has. I guess I shouldn't have been so naive.

It seems almost like the Nest Thermostats...the software itself...was something that was designed once (not even by Google) and now Google is fine just sitting back and watching money flow in without touching it and updating it. It just sits in a stagnant state for years with no noticeable improvements or changes other than rebranding from Nest to Google. Wish Google had never bought the company. They are so arrogant that they don't even care how far behind their product is. At least if it was still Nest on its own, they would have had to evolve to stay competitive.

I completely agree. And surely it cannot be that hard. If you can send me annoying invites every six months to mess with my thermostat schedule, surely you can knock this out!

Hi Edward,
Thanks for the follow-up. I don’t have anything else to add other than people have been asking for this functionality for years and it has gone unanswered. Comparing it to similar settings in the app, it doesn’t seem it would be hard to do.

Hi trletts,
Thanks for the response. We're working hard to bring more features to the Nest Thermostat. We appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,
Edward

Hi Edward,
I am not in need of any more correspondence until the functionality is added. At this time, you can't help me. This functionality is something that needs to be added that your customers have been asking for since the remote sensors came out years ago and it has fallen on deaf ears. A simple search in this Community forums will prove the request. It is functionality that competitors like Ecobee have and have had for a long time. At this time, I would likely recommend to anyone asking for my opinion to go with a competitor with much greater flexibility. Partitioning the day into 4 predefined segments and then not being able to set sensor schedules by day doesn't allow for custom schedules that fit individuals' requirements. We all have different schedules and need different things happening in our houses based off of that. Not what Google tells us our schedule is.

LOL - Is Edward a real person? Seems like Google is testing out some of their AI on us as a joke. Repeating responses without actually confirming the issue is being worked on. "I'll forward this to our team". Ok, then what is the actual time until this gets added? We all know how much this has been requested. If they really forwarded it to the team, it would have been implemented by now. Someone on Google's staff, respond with the word "goat" so we know they are real. Then add the time until the feature is added.
