Learning thermostat not reading the accurate temperature

So i just hooked up my google learning thermostat and it’s not reading the temperature in the house correctly at all. My old thermostat is accurate and reads at 68 while the new one that i just installed is reading 75 degrees. This is my 2nd one that ive bought because i thought the last one was faulty but theyve both had the same issue. My old honeywell thermostat worked fine and was always accurate. What is going on??

Hiya!

Often location changes with the thermostat can impact the accurate temperature. Depending on the thermostat location will read different temperatures. Best advised is place the thermostat in a more central location of your home and see if you can get a more accurate reading. I doubt it's a faulty device. Here is a list of things you can try:

  • Updating Device Software
  • Placing the thermostat in a more central location of your home

Also, I have managed to find a few links to why its possibly reading the wrong temperature and potential fixes are:

Hope this helps!

The thermostat is literally in the center of my house on the middle floor. It’s the most central place that I can get it. My Honeywell read perfectly accurate being in that exact spot so I don’t think that’s the issue. Also I tried updating the software. Today it is only 1 degree off though so maybe it just had to calibrate itself?? Idk but I hope it’s fixed
