I have two Nest Learning Thermostats for two zones of heating.
Both hooked up with just the Rc and W1 wires. They have worked for 5+ years. But now one of the two is showing low battery. I am getting 24VAC on both setups. I enclose the version info for the two thermostats. Why is one working and not the other? The Backplate 5.3 one works and the Backplate 5.4 is the one about to shut down for Low battery.

Hello leezamir,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a battery issue with one of your Nest Thermostats. I'd love to know more about this.
Please check the power readouts on both of your thermostats under the "Technical Info" settings and indicate which one you're having issues with. Also, check for any wiring reports or message codes on its equipment settings.
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

Thank you for the follow-up. I had the Heating Repair people who installed a new combo boiler come back and there was issues with the wiring one their end. I manually recharged both nests over USB plus their wiring fix and my issue is resolved. Thank you.
