Some electric utilities offer time-of-day pricing such that electricity is much more costly in the evening than at night, for example. Thus, it would be useful to support multiple switchover settings for dual fuel systems on a schedule so that the electric heat pump continues to be used down to lower temperatures when electricity is cheaper.
Or, maybe it's simpler to allow locking out electric heat during the block of time each weekday that electricity is most expensive.
