My Nest E thermostat will not turn and has a blinking green light

My Nest E thermostat will not turn and has a blinking green light.

Nest thermostat won't turn on and is blinking green.

I have tried unplugging the unit and charging it with a wall plug for over 3 hours but it still won't turn on. 

I also tried restarting the unit by holding it down for 10 and 30 seconds. At 10 seconds I get a single orange light and then goes back to the green blinking light. Is there a hard reset option?
