My Nest Thermostat keeps changing to Heat at 4pm every weekday but schedule is for Cool

I have a Nest Learning Thermostat Display (3rd Generation) and every weekday the thermostat changes to Heat mode at 4pm, but my current schedule is set to Cool and the mode is set to Cool. I can't find any other reason it would ignore the schedule and change to Heat mode on it's own. Any ideas?

Hello ccunning70,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. I’m sorry to hear your Nest Learning Thermostat keeps changing the temperature every weekday. Don’t worry; I’m here to assist you.

The Nest app lets you create and customize a temperature schedule, or you can adjust it on the thermostat itself. So let's try to remove this previous schedule and set another one. Choose Settings, select Restart, then Schedule, and finally reset the auto-schedule. This option will clear out your entire temperature schedule, then try to create a new schedule with your preferences.
Also, you can check out this article: Temperature Schedules for the Nest Learning Thermostat. Here, you can find all the necessary information about the schedule.

Let me know how it goes, and keep me updated.
Best regards,
Daniel

Thanks for the reply but after a few chats with Nest tech support I finally figured it out on my own. Turns out there was an automation I had set last winter in the Google Home app I forgot about that turned the heat on at 4PM. It was overriding the schedule I set in the Nest app. Once I deleted that automation it stopped switching. Too many different places that now controls the same equipment.

Hey ccunning70,

Thank you so much for replying to this post and keeping me updated. It’s great to know that your Nest Learning Thermostat is working as you expected after deactivating this feature. So if you have more questions or concerns, feel free to post in this forum.

Regards,
Daniel.
