Nest install dual fuel system

Hi there,

Looking to install a nest learning thermostat on my Trane packaged unit (dual fuel system). I’m not super familiar with these packaged units, and want to see guidance on how to wire it before completing the install. I’ve taken pictures of the current wiring but I can’t see how to add them so I’ll describe below. The unit is a Trane 4YCC packaged unit (forced air furnace with a cooling unit) with a Trane XR202 programmable thermostat and im on propane for the furnace.

Current wiring:

red wire - RC

Yellow wire - Y

green wire - G

White wire - W

blue wire - C

Thanks for the help!

Mco194,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you need to know how to connect the wires on your Nest Learning Thermostat. I am happy to help you with this! I was checking your current wiring, and you can connect your wires in the same way. If you have any jumper wires on your current connection, you do not need to connect the jumper wire to the Nest Learning Thermostat.

  • Red wire: Connects to the RC terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Yellow wire: Connects to the Y terminal.
  • Green wire: Connects to the G terminal.
  • White wire: Connects to the W terminal.
  • Blue wire: Connects to the C terminal.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Manuel
