My heating does not come on in the early a.m particularly. It will periodically come on in mid day or evening g. I've had Hvac technician check my unit 4 times... they find no problem; wiring also check & no issue found. Is there some unknown factor that's being missed? My home is really cold in the a.m., I need help!

Hi lhuf45,

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing issues with your heating system despite having it checked multiple times. It can be frustrating when the problem persists despite professional inspections. It's important to address the issue promptly, especially if your home is significantly colder in the early morning. Temperature discomfort can impact your well-being and potentially lead to other issues such as frozen pipes. Here's some fix for you:

  1. Double-check your thermostat settings to ensure the desired temperature and schedule are programmed correctly, and ensure the heating mode is selected and the set temperatures align with your preferences.
  2. Ensure your thermostat is installed in a suitable location, away from drafts, direct sunlight, and heat sources, as these factors can affect its temperature readings and performance.
  3. If your home has zoning or damper systems, it's crucial to ensure that the zoning controls and dampers are functioning properly.
  4. Assess your home's insulation and check for drafts or air leaks to prevent heat loss and improve heating system efficiency. Consider an energy audit or consulting an insulation professional to evaluate your home's insulation and identify potential improvements.
  5. It's possible that your heating system is not appropriately sized for your home's heating demands. An undersized system may struggle to reach and maintain the desired temperatures, particularly during colder periods.
  6. A malfunctioning thermostat or other heating system components, such as pressure switches, limit switches, or control boards, may indicate underlying issues. A thorough evaluation of the entire heating system may be necessary to identify these issues.
  7. Ensure the proper functioning of remote temperature sensors or Home integration with your heating system by checking their settings and configurations to ensure they communicate with the main control system.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
