My thermostat is show E195 error no power to R wire. I reset and checked circuit breaker, reset Nest thermostat but nothing helped. This is not a new install. It has been working for years. All of a sudden, this error appeared. I have not experienced any power outages when this error appeared. What can I do to get this device to work normally?

Hi 215,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I appreciate you being a step ahead of us. To confirm, in what states are you located?

The E195 meant for your thermostat doesn't receive power from your power wire (positive terminal). Could you please turn the ring and go to your thermostat's power info?

You can follow the guide below:

  1. Ensure that the wires are properly stripped and seated in your thermostat base.
    1. Turn off the power to the HVAC system.
    2. Remove the thermostat display.
    3. Take a photo of the current wire setup.
    4. Remove the wires from the connectors and straighten the wires.
    5. Strip the wires to expose ⅓ inch to ½ inch of copper.
    6. Reseat the wires into the connectors and use the photo of the wire setup as a guide.
    7. Reinstall the thermostat display and make sure it clicks into place.
    8. Turn the power back on.
  2. If the issue persists, remove your common (C) wire.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn
