Hi there.

I ve got a nest thermostat for a year now and it shows higher room temperature for 2 degrees Celsius.

Is there a way to calibrate it?

Thank you for your time.

Hi @jimchlap,

Thank you very much for contacting our community! I understand the issue you are experiencing with your Nest Thermostat, which is reading 2°C higher than usual. To provide the most helpful information, I would like to ask you a few questions.

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Any recent changes to the HVAC system?
  • Any recent power outages or power issues?

For the moment, I would like you to perform the following troubleshooting steps:

  • If you have a room thermometer please take a photo of that thermometernest to the Nest Thermostat and send us the photo where we can see the difference in each other.
  • Go to Settings > Technical Info > Network, find the "Signal strength value," and send me a photo of it.
  • Restart the thermostat:
    • Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) and Nest Thermostat E:
      • On the thermostat’s display, go to Settings > Reset > Restart. The thermostat takes a few moments to restart and boot back up.
    • Nest Thermostat (2020) and Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen):
      • On the thermostat’s display, go to Settings > Restart > Restart. The thermostat takes a few moments to restart and boot back up.
  • Turn on Sunblock:
    • Home app

      • Open the Home app select the thermostat.

      • Tap Settings Temperature preferences Sunblock.

      • Turn the Sunblock On.

    • Nest app
      • Open the Nest app select the thermostat.
      • Go to Settings Nest SenseSunblock.
      • If Sunblock is off, turn it on by the slider Off.

Keep me posted.

Best regards.

Eduardo
