My water is hot even when the nest is set to off

So I’ve had a nest fitted at work a few weeks ago, and I have had the hot water set to off since it’s been fitted (we rarely use hot water), every time I try the hot water it’s always really hot as if it has been on? I don’t want to use up energy heating the water if it isn’t needed, but I’m not sure when it’s been heating it as the hot water has always been off.

Thanks for reaching out here @Rosiebaglee and thank you for all the details. Do you happen to notice any activity from your hot water tank? Led that indicates the status, display or sound from it to indicate it's active?
