NEST Learning 3 Issues

Hello Group - Hoping to receive feedback on my NEST Thermostat, have had installed for 3 years and battery was low flashing red.  as instructed charged via USB in wall and still won't stay on for more than a minute.  any similiar expereinces? do i need to replace?  Appreciate any insight, recommendations or feedback

Apparently early Nest stats had replaceable batteries ( not sure if they were rechargeable) My 3rd generation stat has an integral rechargeable battery. On the stat, if you go to settings > Tech Info > Power. what does it read? Can you get to the batteries? Are they removable?

Hi Lansdorf - yes i have the 3rd generation Learning as well (see below) and cannot get to batteries and wont charge via USB as instructed, so looking for additional guidance to assist.
