NEST Thermostat boiler firing up randomly

My Boiler would fire up randomly. I have reset my NEST thermostat  a number of times and it can go for days without doing it then anytime during the day or night my Boiler  would fire up and last for 20/30/40 minutes . My central Heating does not come up ONLY Hot Water..I have the NEST APPS  on my Mobile which works well Lo ally and remotely. I have reset ALL my timing and re-programmed both for hot water and central heating which works well other for the unexpected random fire up the Boiler?

My NEST system was installed some 5/6 years ago but the random issue started some months back..

I can be contacted on my Mobile ###### or indeed email me with a resolution please.

Hi ma75,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your system boiler is turning on unexpectedly. Help’s here!

As you’ve mentioned, your Nest thermostat appears to be functioning correctly when programmed. However, the central heating system is still activating randomly. To better investigate the inconvenience, please provide the following information:

  • What is the model of your Nest thermostat? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify the model of your device.
  • When did this inconvenience first start?
  • Do any other thermostats have heating points that could explain the activation?
  • What is the current status of the Heat Link's LED light?
  • Have you experienced any recent power outages?
  • Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat(s) or heating system?

In the meantime, I’d suggest the following steps:

  • Disable your heating schedule: Temporarily turn off your heating schedule. For reference, you can check out this article: Disable learning for the temperature schedule.
  • Check Bacteria Prevention: If Bacteria Prevention is enabled, disable it by following the instructions in this article: How the Nest thermostat helps prevent Legionella bacteria.
  • Verify Manual Mode: If Manual Mode is on, you should see three solid lights at the top of the Heat Link. If this is the case, please turn off Manual Mode by pressing the Heat Link button once.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
