Hi. When installing, the installation app indicated that my 4 wire connection (R, G, Y, W) might not have enough power and offered a button for alternate instructions. I didn't select that button and couldn't go back. As it is, I expect that the installation will wear out batteries too quickly. How can I fix it?

We can use one of those spare wires that are wrapped around the outside and turn that into your C wire. We will need to connect one of those spare wires to the C terminal in the nest thermostat and then take the same colored wire back at your air handler connected to the C terminal inside your air handler.

are there any spare wires wrapped around the Brown thermostat cable that might could be used? or is this just a standard for conductor cable?

Hi AC Cooling Wizard. Yes, there are several tiny wires.

I’m not sure. I just had this thermostat installed in July of this year by Kettle Marine heating. They told me that I needed a C-wire. But how can I get it

@gellis ,
I they told you you needed a C wire, and they did not hook it up for you, then in all likelihood your thermostat cable has no spare conductors. Perhaps you need to invest in a Google Power Adapter.
