Need help connecting 2 wire to heat boiler

Imvash

Hi

so I have two wires coming from my boiler connected to T1and T2 at the boiler.

I tried connecting the nest to them but the boiler wouldn’t turn off.

am I doing something wrong ?

I connected it to W1 and RH at the NEST.

I was under the impression the nest I purchased was low voltage 1.5 volt and would charge the batteries with the thermostat wires?

help!!!

Hi @Imvash

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you have questions about the wiring configuration for T1 and T2 wires. I'm happy to assist you with that.

To provide the most accurate guidance, I'll need some additional information:

  • What specific Nest thermostat model are you using?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have (conventional, heat pump)?
  • Can you share a picture of the old wiring at your thermostat?
  • If you feel comfortable, please attach a picture of the current wiring of the control board.

 Please, keep me posted!

Best regards,

thanks for your  your help

i have a 3rd generation Learning thermostat

  • I have a conventional oil fired  boiler heating radiators.

I can’t seem to post a picture her for some reason. But my existing thermostat has a white wire connected to W and a red wire connected to RH with a jumper from RH to RC.

  • regarding the control board at the boiler. There’s 2 wires connected to it. One goes to T1 and the other goes to T2

Hello @Imvash

Thank you for the follow-up information.

Based on the information you have provided the compatibility and the best way to connect the thermostat only can be confirmed by a  Nest Pro technician. Nest thermostat do not need jumper between the RH and RC.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
