Nest 3 gen thermostat no 24v from * when testing humidifier

Is that a one wire or 2 wire humidifier? Standalone or built-in?

the humidifier is an Aprilaire 700 m attached to the cold air return. One wire is attached to the * terminal on the thermostat and the other to the “c” terminal on the furnace

Have your properly configured * wire as a humidifier in the Nest equipment setting menu?

Thanks for sharing, I have read that before. Under the section "powered flow through humidifier there is an update for powered flow through humidifier with internal fan relay which is what i have. I wired it per their diagram with no additional relay required
