I am having the same problem. One falling off the wifi and not being able to reconnect seems to be a common problem but Googles stock answers seem to assume it’s a problem with the wifi.

Hi folks,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostats are not connecting to the internet. Let me take a look at this for you. A few questions:

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. Is the thermostat display working?
  4. Can your thermostat find other Wi-Fi networks?
  5. How far away is the thermostat from the router?
  6. Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat?
  7. Can your other devices find your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)?
  8. Are you able to access the internet from your phone or computer?
  9. Do you only have one Wi-Fi network, or are there multiple ones? If there are others, do any of them end in _ext?
  10. Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?
  11. Is there an error code or message that appears on the thermostat's Settings > Network?
  12. What’s the make and model of your router?

Keep us posted. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
