Nest 3rd Gen display says remove from base

  • We have just started installation of 3rd gen thermostat,  followed instructions but when I connect the base the display says remove from base. Once removed it says plug into base, I have done thus hundreds of times. I've checked the wires and the are placed back into wall so I don't believe there is a connection issue. I have plugged it USB hoping it needs to be charged. There is flashing green light at the top. Can someone confirm it is charging if the green dot is flashing

Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. A blinking green light near the top of your Nest thermostat’s display means that it’s updating the software, starting up, or restarting. I found an article with more details on that. If you are still having the issue, I would recommend trying to reset the device. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

The issue has been resolved.  I was able to reach support via Twitter.  I discovered that I had one of the wires connected to C instead of G.  We changed that and the device was fine and started working properly.  Thank you for the follow up.
