Nest 3rd Gen is not running a Brand new Bryant Legacy package unit correctly

Hi,

We just replaced a 34 y old package unit with a brand new Bryant Legacy unit. It's an Ultra Low NOx unit (577C model) in California. The Nest thermostat was already in place for the last 2+ years running the old unit perfectly. Now the Nest cannot run the new unit correctly. It keeps the fan running all the time, even when I turn it off. The only time the fan stops running is when I remove the Nest from the base. The unit will even turn on as soon as I put the Nest back on the plate, even if the setting is "off" - please help. I love the Nest and I am hoping it's just an obscure setting that will allow me to continue to run this brand new unit with the Nest. Some additional info... Nest Model: Display-3.4; Serial # 09AB01AC02190890; Software: 6.2-27

Thanks in advance for any help.

Carlos

Hi Carlos2,

Thanks for reaching out — I'm sorry for the delay. Do you have a C wire? If yes, try to remove it and check if the issue persists. It might be an issue with power sharing. Do you see any messages or code in the app or on the Nest Thermostat?

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi,

I was out of the country for a couple of weeks. I am back now and can work on this. Below is a link to the pic of the wiring of the Nest thermostat - there is no C wire. I removed the Nest and installed a super basic Thermostat (can't even program temps) because with the Nest the fan never shut off. Even if I actually turned the Thermostat off.  Let me know if there are any wiring combinations I can try. I am also attaching links to the pic of the Spec card for the Bryant unit and the pic of the wiring of the "basic" thermostat I had to install.

Thanks for the support,
Carlos

Hi - we called a different HVAC company and it appears is not thermostat related. They are investigating the issue with the unit itself since the problem is now happening even with the different (basic) thermostat. I will comeback to this post once I have full resolution from HVAC company.
