Nest 3rd Generation Learning Thermostat time changes during the day

JC67

In the mornings the time on the Nest Thermostat is two hours to early (eg. at 6am it show 4am) but in the afternoon it is correct. This is upsetting the schedule. I checked the software update & it says it is up to date (Version 6.2-27 released May 3, 2022).

Model Nest 3rd Generation Learning Thermostat (Stainless Steel, White, Black).

Is this a software issue?

Hey JC67,

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and see I could be of any help. If the time is incorrect on your device, I would recommend updating your zip or postal code in the Nest app.

  1. Open the Nest app .
  2. Tap Settings,  Home info, Address

Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Thanks anyway Jake but as I said it's not just that the time incorrect in the morning but it correct later in the day. Are you saying some zip codes have multiple time zones in one day?  If there is, I sure don't want to live there! 🙂

To answer your question yes that was the first thing I checked.

Much appreciated that at least someone replied. I guess I'm the only person with this issue. Just my luck I guess. The Thermostat was good when it worked. Oh well might be time to throw it in the trash and go back to a dum thermostat that listens to what I tell it, as the cost of Gas at the moment is like gold and this faulty Google equipment is costing to much to run.

Unfortunately I'm still intermittently experiencing the same issue. But as we are now in Spring, it is less obvious as it is to warm anyway, so heating should not come on anyway. I rarely look at the time first thing in the morning but again I did notice that it was two hours out one morning a couple of weeks ago and was correct when I got home.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the follow-up, @Jhonleanmel, @EmersonB, and @Jake.

@JC67, the absence of any report or message code is a good indicator that there’s no issue with the thermostat's functionality. Addresses are verified on both the Google Home app and the Nest app as well. I'd suggest restarting it or resetting it to default and adding it again to the Nest app, which would help your Nest thermostat to recalibrate.

Please observe after doing the step and let us know if the issue still persists.

Best regards,

Mark
