Nest 3rd Generation Thermostat Frequently Updating

brozozo

The other day my thermostat began randomly updating (thermostat controls unavailable, Google logo present, green light blinking). This occurs most often when I press the thermostat to change its setting. My issue appears to be identical to this this post

Any solutions?

Hi @brozozo,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen is stuck on the Google logo and showing a blinking green light.

To gather all the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • When did you install your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen?
  • Have you tried removing the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen from its base and reattaching it?
  • Could you verify that the wires are fully tucked into the wall and not pushing the back of the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen?
  • Have you had power outages in your area recently?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.

Hi,

The thermostat was installed in 2019. Removing the thermostat from the base does not affect the constant rebooting. The wires are tucked into the wall. The other day our power flickered on and off for a moment.

Hi there!

Thanks for your reply and confirming that even removing the display and re-attaching it to the wall, it is still constantly rebooting. The team would like to learn more about this behavior. To get in touch with us, visit our Contact Us page and follow the prompts until you reach Contact Options. Then select “Get a Call” or “Chat.”

Best regards,

Derick.
