Nest 3rd gen learning Tstat, not visible in Home app

I have a Nest Learning thermostat that I bought used. When I installed it, it required that I install the Nest app, so I did that. It works great from the Nest app, and in that app I'm logged in with my google account. Why can't I find the thermostat in Google Home? In Home, I control several other Nest products, just not the thermostat. When I try to set up a device that "works with Google", "Nest" is not listed. When I try to go into the Nest app and "migrate" my account, I can't find that option.

How do I control the thermostat from the Home app?

When you go into your Google Home app, and you want to add a new device, you do not choose, works with Google home, you choose the top option. It simply says new device. Google home knows about the thermostat. It’s not a third-party device that you say works with Google Home like a lightbulb or something

@pindar

If a thermostat is installed successfully in the Google Nest app, it should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app if you are logging onto both apps with the same Google account and accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure".

Several customers posting recently in this forum were unable to see their thermostat in the Google Home app because they had failed to add their thermostat to a "room" in the Google Nest app; once they added the thermostat to a "room" on the Google Nest app, the thermostat appeared in the Google Home app.

Several other customers have resorted to creating a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Nest app, then going to that new and empty "home" in the Google Home app and deleting it. Apparently, this has forced the two apps to sync and the thermostat has then appeared in the Google Home app.

Thank you. I can see now that the issue had to do with having multiple "homes". I removed one, and then it started displaying the thermostat in the home app. Now I'm working on removing all my devices from their previous "home" so I can add them to the correct one
