Received a replacement (existing one had WiFi issues) nest 3rd generation from google. After installing it goes into updating software process. I let it run for over 30 minutes but never completed. I also reached out to Google in an email thread with them but it takes awhile for them to respond.
How long should I wait for this to complete? Also why wasn’t this update done by Google Nest before sending it to me? Probably a question for them.

This is resolved - it around 3 hours to finish software update. It was even running removed from base.
