Nest Baystat 051a to Nest

I reduplicated the wiring with the nest and when it went into cooling the heat came on? What am I doing wrong.

Please ignore during the heating testing rotation valve was stuck bc the the system is  so old.

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I wanted to ensure that you were good to go.

Incorrect configuration usually causes this HVAC behavior. Do you have a heat pump? If so, make sure to select the correct system orientation in its settings and by checking your control panel's wiring from the thermostat. Here's your guide to troubleshooting heat pump issues.

I had to get a whole new system but that had nothing to do with the next. The valve that goes between heat and ac broke ant its R-22.  I am good to go on the nest now.
