I am trying to install a Nest Thermostat in a 2-wire heating only system. I have the Nest Power Connector installed, and added a 24VAC adapter to serve as a C-wire per the Pro Installer guide (one wire to C on connector, the other to R, tapped into connector gray wire). The thermostat is turning the heat on and off appropriately, but none of the "smart" features are working.
When I check Wiring info I see the C in gray. When I check Power Status I get Vin: 27.5 V; Iin: 305(W); PS: W-305, WP-14.
I am also unable to connect the thermostat to the Google Home app or the WiFi. Nest says to set up Wifi in the Home app, but the Home app does not connect to the device. I am therefore also not connected to the Google Home account, and cannot get the device and app to connect.
I have reset the thermostat several times. I deleted this home from the app and tried setting it up fresh. I've been through the Add device steps on the Home app a dozen times.
Any advice on how to get this working would be appreciated!

Replying to my own post - I tried a factory reset based on some other instructions. Now I cannot get the thermostat to do ANYTHING other than tell me to set it up in the Google Home app, which it will not connect to.
At least before it was working as a simple thermostat - now if I can't get it back to that point I need to undo everything so I can get my old thermostat back running.
Please help!

No help from the community. I resolved this on my own - not really sure how. I removed the home from the app, re-added the home and the device, and then was able to get the thermostat to connect to the network, and it is working. It is not clear that the system is recognizing the C-wire - Wiring Info says no Y, W(P)-R. Y is in yellow, and there should not be a Y wire.

Hi Chilepines,
Thanks for reaching out in the Google Nest Community forum — we appreciate you for being a step ahead of us. I'm sorry for the delay. I'm glad to hear that the issue is now resolved.
You can follow the guide below on how to update your wiring in the Google Home app:
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
