Nest Compatibility - Wiring

Hello! I am making this post because the chat the compatibility checker sends me to says it is unavailable.

Our current thermostat is a Trane TCONT402AN32DAA.  The second picture is the wiring diagram for it (I crossed out and lined out the terminals not used). For the most part, it seems pretty clear which wire goes where on the Nest (Learning 3rd gen), except for the last wire, the brown one connected to terminal B.  Since the diagram shows it is “24V common,” does this mean it should be connected to terminal “C” on the Nest?

And also, is this system compatible with the Nest thermostat?

Thank you for your help!

I meant to say it’s the terminal block diagram, not the wiring diagram.

Hi Maddie3,

I'm sorry for the late response, but thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat as shown:

Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
