We've had this thermostat for about a year with no issues.
This morning it was not connected to wifi. The unit was gray and unresponsive. I charged it manually. During charging the green light was blinking, the google logo would appear, and then the logo would disappear, the light blink red once, then the whole thing would repeat.
Finally the message to attach to the wall appeared and I did.
I briefly got the normal temperature display and did a manual restart, which seemed to work.
But then the same thing that was happening during charging repeated: green lights, google logo, red light, gray screen.
If I had to guess I would say it is repeatedly restarting until the battery is drained.
Any ideas?

Hi Kongjie,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd like to know more about it. A few questions: in what country are you located? Do you have a C wire? How long did you charge your Nest Thermostat E? When did you purchase your thermostat? Is your thermostat display warm to touch? Please try to get your thermostat's power readings.
You can follow the guide below:

Hi Jenelyn
Thanks for your response. I called support and they determined I need a replacement face plate, and they sent it. All is well now and you can close this thread.
