I mounted my Nest E low to the ground, about 2.5 feet from the floor. I did this because I removed a wall between 2 rooms and put a bar top between the rooms. This is the wall that had the original thermostat on it. I decided to just lower it from the original location. Now i think that my furnace is running longer than it should be. I just learned about the Nest Sensor. Could this be a solution instead of rewiring my Nest and moving it to a higher location?

Yes the Nest sensor will help your thermostat get a better assessment of the actual ambient temperature in the location you are trying to heat/cool. Alternatively, you could reduce by one degree your target temperature on your Nest to see if that helps compensate.

I will purchase the sensor and place it in a higher location and see if that helps. Thank you:)
