Nest Fan Continues to Run

LynDeeT
Community Member

I have had my Next now for two weeks and have tried to learn the product and troubleshoot this issue to no avail.

From OFF I set the HEAT to 68. After the thermostat reaches the desired temp the fan continues to run and the temperature continues to escalate. I have not witnessed it to date turning itself off. At one point the temp was up to 78 degrees! I am not sure if the fan running means the heat pump is working. If that is the case, I am sure my heating bill will be through the roof. I have checked the green fan wire and it is correct in the G position and connected.

I have resorted to completely powering down the system and "resetting" every time I leave my house so that the system is in the OFF position. Then when I return I turn it back on to 68 and go through the whole process again.

Any ideas of what I should do?

Hi LynDeeT,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
