I have had the Gen 2 Thermostat and Heatlink for a while. It used to once in a while drop connection but always reconnected when I went to the menu and clicked on check again. This time it just wont connect to the heatlink. Some of the stuff I have tried:
1. Stodd right next to the hearlink and tried to pair - no luck
2. Restarted the heatlink - no luck
3. Factory reset of the heatlink - no luck
4. Selected options to paid again in the thermostat, entered the code of the ehatlink again - no luck
The heatlink seems to be working, and I can click on the button to manually start and stop the heating. I Thermostat is working. The batter is well over 3.8v. I can connect to WiFi. And my iOS App picks the thermostat (but obviously says not connected to heatlink).
What else can i check ? I am so close to throwing this out and getting something simpler.

I seem to have sorted this (fingers crossed) by resetting the Nest Thermostat this time (not the heatlink). So far it seems to be holding but lets see.

I understand that you have reset your Nest Thermostat and now it is connected to your Heat Link, please let us know if you encounter any other inconvenience or if the device displays an error message.
