Nest Heat link not working

allanfps
Community Member

Nest Heat Link is completely unresponsive No LEDs, manual mode not working when button is pressed.

Got a H71 (connectivity) error on Nest thermostat and have tried all troubleshooting solutions on other threads.

Have tried holding button for 10/20/30 seconds and none of them have made any difference.

Both thermostat and heat link are just over 15months old and I have not had this issue before. How do I go about getting a warranty replacement ? As I believe these have a 2yr warranty?

Hi @allanfps , @Bradders , @julsies6 , I am sorry to hear you are all having difficulties with your devices and would be to try and assist.

Make sure to first check all breakers and switches, to make sure nothing has tripped. Also check the boiler as it can have a separate switch. Confirm the boiler has power, it should have a status LED or display that turns on.

If it all looks good try and power cycle the Heat Link, if you are comfortable in doing so. Turn the power off to it for a few minutes and then turn it back on. See if it has any reaction after when you press the button on it.

Best regards,

AlexD

Still dead as a dodo.

Already checked circuit breakers and none that had tripped. Boiler still has power and is heating the water but not the radiators. Heat Link still dead.

Thanks for trying @Bradders and @allanfps . A few more things to check then:

1. How long has it been installed for?

2. When did you first notice this behavior?

3. Was it installed by a Nest Pro or a heating/electrical engineer?

4. Did you notice any message on the thermostat display?

5. Did you have any power cuts in the area before this occurred?

6. Did you have any work done on the heating or electrical system there?

7. Do you have one or multiple Google Nest thermostat devices at the location?
